A few years ago I acquired a small Irish harp but much to my dismay it has still alluded me. However, I’m not giving up and I’m still pursuing this beautiful instrument. One day, several years ago, I was practicing O DANNY BOY in a straight chordal fashion on the harp when it dawned on me that this sort of arrangement just might fit the Ukulele. I had already done a fingerpicking arpeggio version of it in an earlier publication but never thought to do it in a Chord/Melody format. I employed the same gentle rolling chords with just my thumb and lo and behold, it conveyed the feeling of an Harp chord roll. So, in my Chord Melody eBook FOUR I decided to include it. Probably due to my Irish geneaology that I’ve had a life long love of Irish music. Over the years I’ve sung this song.
