I had considered “Ramblin Rose” for quite some time as a likely candidate for the Chord/Melody format arrangement. . . . It wasn’t until I came to work on the THIRD in the collection that I finally decided to do it . . . . Below are the opening 4 measures of my arrangement . . .
As in all Chord/Melody arrangements there is absolutely no fingerpicking involved. Merely place the finger on the chord designated in the tablature and strum with the thumb. The melody automatically rides on top. In most Chord/Melody pieces there are frequent interludes of only melody and once again these are also played with just the thumb. Since the melody routinely rides up and down the fingerboard, so do the chords. . . Therefore, we have plenty of higher chord inversions. Take a look at measure 6.
